Rema and Omah Lay are the trending favorites in the Nigerian music scene at the moment. They are both great artists with almost similar sounds with Rema dominating the industry in 2019. From Obama’s list to the BET awards, Rema had a great 2019. The young artist has won so many awards including the headies, and Soundcity MVP awards.

Omah Lay on the other hand took the industry by storm with his songs and Ep gaining momentum in 2020. Things seem to be moving quite fast for the young artist, his single ‘Bad Influence’ has garnered over ten million streams on audio mack and is still topping charts in eleven countries. It has been the number one song on Nigeria’s Apple music and still currently topping the charts.

Divine Ikubor known as Rema, is a young Nigerian singer and rapper. He was born into a Christian family in Benin City, Edo State. Rema grew up singing and rapping while in secondary school.

In 2018, Rema posted a viral freestyle of D’Prince ‘s track Gucci Gang, which prompted his signature to Jonzing World, a subsidiary of Mavin Records.

He came to limelight with the release of the song, Iron Man, which featured in Barack Obama’s playlist. He released his eponymous debut EP Rema in 2019, which peaked at number 1 on Apple Music Nigeria.

Rema rose to stardom with a couple of hit songs, like Iron Man, Why, Beamer, Dumebi, Rewind, Corny, Boulevard, American Love, Rainbow, Spiderman, Trap Out The Submarine, Bad Commando, Lady, Ginger Me, which gained him international recognition.

Omah Lay 'Bad Influence' - Prob-1

Stanley Omah Didia, known as Omah Lay, is a Nigerian singer, songwriter, and producer popularly known for his unique music styles and voice. He was born to a family with deep musical roots in Port Harcourt, Nigeria.

Lay came from a musical family, as his grandfather was a percussionist for the legendary Highlife singer Celestine Ukwu. His father too was a drummer. But Lay’s music is deeply Afro-Fusion.

Omah Lay is one of the fastest rising new artistes to watch out for this year. He released his official single on the 14th of February, 2020. His songs have more than 600,000 views on all platforms, currently being featured on Soundcity Top 20 and Cool Fm Tastemakers’ chart. Also in the top charts on Shazam and other top music platforms.

He’s still a new act, but looking at his achievements so far, he’ll really be going far in the music industry. In June 2020, he was featured as the New Artiste of The Month on Apple Music. Lay has an estimated net worth of $250,000.
